Black Dog Monday - Nemo the Bernese Mix

Today's black dog is Nemo. He is listed as a Bernese Mountain Dog/Shepherd mix. He is guessed to be 3 years old and has been looking for his forever home for sometime. Nemo is picky about his people and will require an experienced dog home so finding the right family for him is required.

I have never heard of the rescue listing Nemo ... anyone know about them? Francisvale Home for Smaller Animals

Hey! I have one of those that I am trying to bring in after living in the wild for I don't know how long...poor guy is a bag of bones!

Berners are wonderfully intelligent and loyal dogs.
Good luck, Nemo!

I don't mean to nitpick...but how is he particular, besides being shy and scared upon first meeting? He's a no-kids dog, that's fine, but I'm just intrigued if this is an excuse for the rescue to deny potential adopters who might fit, or if the dog has other issues that arne't being disclosed (or are only disclosed TO potential adopters).

He has such a cute face though, I hope he finds a home. He appears more of a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog mix than a Bernese but they're all great dogs!col

V ... probably it is used as both - one, as a good excuse to deny adopters that just won't work out and two, there are other issues that will be disclosed upon meeting the dog.

Usually there are more issues but the rescue is "selling" the dog and focuses only on the good.
