Guess the Breed #15

Wow ... I haven't posted a GTB since December! Good grief, you guys should have mentioned something about that earlier. I get sidetracked sometimes ...

Anyway ... Check out this one! What do you think she is? First prize, as always, is a little link love ... Ready? Set? GO!

What would a contest be without rules?

1. No bashing other peoples' opinions.

2. Post your opinion. Don't be shy.

3. Have fun!

I think it is a Boykin Spaniel.
Hard to tell from the pic.

I'll guess Gordon Setter, although there may not be enough brown.

English Cocker Spaniel? (no tail docking over there)

Field Spaniel. Although it could be a Boykin.

wow...I always think I know something until it comes to this game. :)

English Springer Spaniel. Although he's lacking the characteristic white markings.

oh! I forgot about the no docking in Europe....hmmmm.... good thinking, Shadow Rider.

Field Spaniel with un-docked tail

Hmmm, after a second look, I'm starting to think American Water Spaniel.

ChrisJ, I have to agree with you. His hair does not seem to be the same texture as a field spaniel.

Coming from the upper midwest, I've known a few AWS and, IIRC, they have two coat types - curly & wavy. I think this is a wavy coated AWS.

If it's a Boykin, I'm going to be so embarrassed.

WELLL?????

I know I'm wrong, I am anxious to discover if Boykin is right.
I have never heard of a Boykin.

ChrisJ was right - it is an American Water Spaniel.
