Featured Rescue - Zuggy the Lhasa Apso

When I first read this adoptable on Petfinder, I thought the person who entered the information must have made a typo! This little guy's name is Zuggy. He arrived at the shelter 5/26/09. At 10-years old, Zuggy is considered a "senior". According to the write up: He spent his whole life in a cage, and is ready retire in a warm, loving forever home.

Zuggy is currently in the care of The Humane Society Of Yates County which is in NY. Phone number is (315) 536-6094.

This is the embodiment of crappy photos of adoptable animals. This guy has been around for a year and they still haven't got a better picture than THAT?! Come on people! I bet his adopability would go up if they gave him a trim in the grooming facilities that they profess to have at the shelter and took a better picture! Sometimes it's not only the animals who give up on finding a new home - sometimes the people taking care of them do too.

Foto Fail! It's the easiest and least expensive thing you can do to raise the adoptability of any animal! And Lhasa's are generally so cute and personable! there's no excuse!

Hey, his ad is down now, though. Maybe he found a home.

Hope so..

I agree with you on the photo! They really should try to get as good a photo or video as they can! It only takes a sec...and it could mean the world to a rescue dog. I sure hope the little guy found a home!

I think if they took his ad down then he was probably adopted. I doubt that they would keep him for over a year only to turn around and euthanize (unless he were to get sick or something).

I'm still waiting to hear anything about a photo blogger who will write a guest post. I've had two say they would do it, but then they don't!
