Black Dog Monday - Copper the Manchester Terrier

These guys are cute - and often mis-identified. Many shelters ID the Manchester Terrier as a Min Pin. Check out Copper. He is 1.5 years old and is looking for a new home. Unfortunately for him, the rescue that has him (Happy Tails K9 & Feline Rescue in MI) will only accept "Local adoptions". I hate it when rescues do this because it really limits the dog's chances of finding that perfect home. Some people will travel far and wide looking for a specific breed in rescue. Unfortunate only for the dog. I hope he finds a good home.

I am always amazed at the dogs that can be found in shelters. A manchester terrier? I have only seen a couple in real life!

good luck, Copper!

Oh, I love these dogs.
Tough little buggers, aren't they?
Weren't they bred as ratters, like jacks?

giantspeckledchihuahua - I too have only met a few. The breed didn't "take off" the way the JRT did ... not sure why. Maybe because they are black?

GoLightly - Yep - they are ratters and super tough.

ManOverBoard - I think it has something to do with the rescue/shelter wanting to check up on the dogs they adopt out ... but I think it's a dumb thing because it limits your potential adopters
