The Cardigan can also be a blue merle colour. I think the GTB dog listed below likely has a bit of Cardigan in him (along with JRT). Again, this is a guess as I don't really know what breeds the dog is being a shelter adoption, but we can always put forth our opinions!
I saw a few blue merle Cardigans in the herding trial I went to a few weeks ago (very interesting stuff, I might add).

I actually don't see any CWC in the dog below at all. I agree with those who said Jack Russell/ACD. There are several different body types of Jack Russells (although not in the AKC version Parson Russell Terriers, which might be what you are most familiar with.) The shorter legged, longer bodied Jacks are known as "shorties" or "puddins" or Irish Jacks, depending on who you talk to, and have a body type almost identical to your GTB dog.
Yes ... I've been doing a bit of digging into the JRT ... interesting stuff!
