I thought I'd set up a new type of post for fun. I'm going to call it "guess the breed". This is one of the things I find fun when I'm out at different shelters, perusing through the internet and reading emails so I thought I'd share.
I will periodically come across a picture of a dog that I will post and you are all welcome to throw out your opinion regarding what breed you think it is! Some will be purebreds, others will be Heinz 57. Some I will know the answer to and others I will simply have a guess.
Here are the rules ...
1. No bashing other peoples' opinions. (Friendly banter only.)
2. Please post your opinion!
3. Have fun!
Below is the first candidate for Guess The Breed (GTB).
So? What do you think?

I going to say that I have no idea, but I think the dog has some terrier.
JRT and something else!
JRT/Springer?
JRT/ACD?
Only his mommy really knows for sure;)
We think Jack Russell Terrier and something else, but not exactly sure what the something else is!
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
jack russel terrier/cattle dog("blue heeler"). not an uncommon cross in my area.
JRT/Spaniel?
I'm going to agree with Texomamorganlady--JRT with cattle dog (heeler) or maybe JRT/Rat Terrier/Corgi (because of the barrel body)
Difficult to judge.,but may be a street dog or some dwarf of dobarman.Could not guess more than that.
Rather would like to learn from you which one is this ,because frankly no idea about it.have seen such dogs ,but never bothered about their breed so am helpless.
Awesome thoughts!! Great comments. Good suggestions.
All I know for sure is that he's a mutt that someone adopted from their local shelter. But we can guess :)
My first inclination was for a JRT/ACD mix, but Calsidyrose is right, it wouldn't account for the long barrel. I am thinking more along the lines of a JRT/Cardigan Welsh Corgi mix (who also can have the blue merle colourings).
He likely has a bit of this and a bit of that in there as well, but those are the breeds I'd suggest.
I will post a picture of a Cardigan ... Check it out!
JRT/Merle Dachs???
I didn't think of merle doxie!
I disagree that this dog is a blue merle but rather he is showing extensive ticking. If he was a merle we would see gray patches, however, this dog's patches & ticking are solid black.
I'm guessing the dog in question is a JRT x ACD but his JRT parentage was of the "Pudding" type (short legged, relatively longer backed).
