Featured Rescue - Joey the Australian Shepherd

There are 3431 Australian Shepherds available on Petfinder.com today. The Aussie (as it is commonly called) is a high-energy herding breed that often finds itself in rescue.

This is Joey, a 2 year old owner surrender in Attica, MI. He is crate and house trained. The rescue is asking that he be adopted to a home without cats as Joey doesn't get along very well with them, however he does enjoy the company of dogs.

I'm in no position to say what exactly is the difference between the two breeds, but Joey almost looks more like an English Shepherd than an Aussie. His head just has that sleeker ES look.

Just my .02 on that. No matter his breed, I hope he finds a home!

oh he's so handsome. I hope he finds a great home.

On a somewhat related note, my 1st foster got adopted yesterday! I'm going to miss the little guy, but I really like the family and think he's going to be one happy boy! Now a brief rest until the next one comes on Saturday! :)

He does look similar, eh? I have seen some funny looking Aussies though ... it's hard to say. The pictures weren't that great either. Good point though
