Do I need to remind everyone of the various reasons it is beneficial to Spay and Neuter your pets? No ... I'd be preaching to the choir.
Anyway, if you have space for her, contact the rescue. Looks like they are a pretty high volume rescue with big turnarounds. I've never heard of them though so can't say anything either way about them ... anyone out there know this rescue?

I thought you'd like to know some statistics about spaying and mammary cancer.
If a dog is spayed before her first heat, the chances of her developing mammary cancer is around one in 2000.
If spayed after her first heat, her chances increase to 8 in 100.
Spayed after her second heat, and her chances of getting mammary cancer are somewhere between one in 3 and one in 4.
It's a huge difference, and I think many people underestimate it.
Yes, very important information to know! What a cutie-- hope she finds her forever home soon.

Hello.
Yep that mammary gland cancer happened to my aunt dee's dog. SHe knows better now about spaying her dog. It was sad. She is very cute. I hope she finds a nice family.

Priscilla is adorable. We hope she finds a forever home soon.
Great comments everyone. We'll follow Priscilla as we do the others 'Featured'. I'm hoping she is quick to be adopted, but with her special needs plus her age it may be difficult.
Ferox - thank you very much for posting these stats! That's great information. I knew the chances were less the earlier they are spayed, but hadn't realized the differences were that significant. (Yep, I underestimated it too!)
Thanks to ferox.
I'll pass those stats to idiot neighbour. Won't make much difference, as he keeps "forgetting" to spay her.
Good luck to Priscilla, she looks like a sweetie.
I hope that cute Priscilla~Princess will soon find a forever home.
