Well, we have good news for some of the dogs I've featured. While some have been adopted, many more are waiting for their forever home. I encourage everyone to spay and neuter their dogs that are not breeding material. There are too many unwanted dogs out there.

The picture they have used to post her is horrible. I don't think that picture is even the same dog as I had originally put up in April ...

Jack A Roo is going to need the perfect home to come along. He is deaf. Note that deaf dogs can make excellent members of the family, but it takes a special sort of person who is willing to do the training required.

I wish Winston would get adopted. I can't help thinking it's the milage restriction. I just had a couple adopt my foster, which was also a Boston Terrier, and they drove 7 hours EACH WAY to get him!!! And they're the most wonderful and amazing family.
I'm wondering about that too. There are many national breed rescues (the Dachshund Rescue of North America comes to mind) that adopt dogs out to people even across the country: they just have a chain of drivers for the driving legs of the trip.
Maybe I'm just a bit jaded, but I've always considered some rescues a bit hoity-toity, especially when it comes to their application processes...they can turn someone down and "protect" THEIR special dogs from going to a "bad" family, but ultimately it doesn't matter; unless the family has a history of cruelty or just plain realizes that they can't have a dog right now, they WILL get one.
Then again, that doesn't help dogs like these who really do need homes.
Actually, now that I look at Winston's profile, he's close, but "too far" from the people who adopted my foster. Who knows, maybe they would have adopted him if he was closer! They specifically wanted a BT.
