Guess the Breed #4

Ok, I hope this one's not too easy for all of you! I've been looking around for the right dog to use for this GTB and I think I found one.

I have heard of this breed a few times, but there aren't any around town here that I know of. I did get to meet a few earlier in the summer ... but I won't tell you where until after you've done your guesses because it might give the answer away!

So, Guess the Breed. What kind of dog do you think this is?

As always, remember the Golden Rules ...

1. No bashing other peoples' opinions. (Friendly banter only.)
2. Post your opinion!
3. Have fun!

My first thought was Bearded Collie, but I think Dog_geek got it right with Briard!

Phew! Dog_Geek got it right in the first comment! Guess it was too easy ...

I first saw this breed at a herding trial. The Briard Club of Canada had sponsored the trials and a representative had two with her.

Weird lookin' critters.
Way too much hair for me.

My sister has a Briard and it's hair measure about 19 inches, tooo much hair for me, too... awesome dog, though!

I've never seen a Briard, but had I been able to put in a guess before the answer came out, my first thought would have been the Picardy Shepherd.

Of course, now I can see the difference.
