Guess the Breed #8

Today's Guess the Breed was again brought to us thanks to Calsidyrose, author of We Don't Rent Puppies.
This little girl is around 9 months old. She is a shelter dog - can you guess her breed??
As always, here are the rules ...
1. No bashing other peoples' opinions. (Friendly banter only.)
2. Post your opinion!
3. Have fun!

I think she is a mixed breed, but does she have some short coat collie.

I don't know much about the dog breeds the same as cars. Of course I know the basics, but I couldn't even make an intelligent guess, whatever it is my first thought was it's mixed with Dalmatian, but I have no clue.

Dear Friendz, Hi! This is LuLu and LoLLy and guess what?! We totally need to invite you to be an Ambastador for our new project which is outlawing thermometerz becuz as long as we are doing health care stuff let's do something truly importint!

OK you can check it out at http://www.luluandlolly.com

And so to be an Ambastador you just have to have a prest confrintz which means you have to bark at somebody about this and send us a pikture of it!

OK and also then here is the thing this is a secret plan to get a way for a lot of rescue doggies to get their pikturz on our petishon and then more peeples will see them and adopt them as we sirculate this petishon!

We will put the place that they can be adopted on the petishon!

So pleaz help us do 2 good things which is get more doggies adopted and get doggies adopted!!!

Love, your PaLs, LuLu and LoLLy!

Well, with that coloring the first thing that comes to mind is Dalmation but of course the body doesn't look anything like that. The tail reminds me of some cattle dogs I've met. But definitely a mix of something. :)

If that was a horse, would be a Pintaloosa!
But as a dog, I don't know. You have stumped us this time.

I know what breed she is! Damn cute! She could come snuggle up with me any day.

Otherwise, I haven't a clue.

I'm thinking there's some Border Collie in her - in particular her way of standing looks "BC slinky" if you know what I mean. I'd have to actually see her move to know if she really has that BC slinky way of standing/moving. Except for the color, nothing else looks remotely Dalmatian-ish. She's got a very powerfully coiled back/loin which looks sighthound-ish but I've also seen BCs with the same. I've never seen a BC with this color pattern but I guess it's possible so I suppose she could be a purebred smooth-coated BC.

A friend's late border collie/dalmatian cross looked like that.

Thanks for the guesses! We'll never know for sure, but we've got her listed as a Border Collie, although she is a little tall at the withers for the breed, but we're not sure what else she's mixed with. I don't think she's got Dalmatian in her in spite of her spots--her head's the wrong shape and her body does have that sight hound tuck.

I like the comment about the "slinky" moving, because she does have that--she's weavy and darty, too. If she gets someone who can help her build her confidence, she's going to be a great dog.
